April March - Chick Habit

From the Deathproof OST but originally from France Gall... cuteness...

Lady Gaga - Poker Face (Live Acoustic)

No more Lady Gaga plzzzzzzz... but still quite impressive :)

I still remember the following dialogue between Paris Hilton and Lady Gaga:

Paris Hilton: I mean OMG! You are like a total fashion icon!
Lady Gaga: NO! You're a fashion icon!
Paris Hilton: NO! You're a fashion icon!!!
Lady Gaga: NOOOOO! You're a fashion icon!!!!!!

...you get the gist...

Metric - Gimme Sympathy

It's been a while since I listened to something new from Metric but this one sounds pretty cool. The video is kinda nice but I think the song misses that extra something... it's just tooo cute for my liking...

I have seen them live though and they are pretty good! I mean she even stage dived...

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Date With The Night live

This has to be one of the best live performances I have ever seen! (kk as bebe noted I have never actually seen them live but I think it still counts!)

Spotify

Seriously now I need your undivided attention! This is the best thing that has ever happened to online streaming music!

- Think of it as You Tube for audio!

- Think of it as iTunes that lets you listen to the entire track!

- Think of it as the reason to stop downloading music!

- Think of it as the evolution of MP3s!

This AMAZING piece of software allows you to play ALL (and when I say ALL I mean ALL) music instantly! No need to ever download anything ever again! Why download it when it's already there for you to listen? And the best part... it's absolutely free!

Spotify has been all over the news in London as the revolution to the way we consume music. Once you play with it, there is no turning back! GET IT NOW NOW NOW! (I hope it's available in your country :)

GET SPOTIFY - ED!!!

Placebo - For What It's Worth

Placebo just released their new single from their upcoming sixth album. Pretty cool but dunno about the new haircut and is it just me or Molko looks quite old?... Check it out :)

Noisettes - Don't Upset The Rhythm

WoW! Aren't they back with a BANG!?

Currently featuring at number 2 of the UK chart, taken from their yet unpublished second album (it's coming out on Sunday 20 April) and already featuring in a TV ad for Mazda, this song is literally everywhere in London at the mo!

Very very different from their indie first album but hey this is a financial crisis so I guess we all have to make sacrifices :P

The video is quite weird and clearly styled after Grace Jones! It is also one of (at least) two videos the band has made for the same song. Unfortunately, I can't seem to be able to link the other one as You Tube says that it's not available in my country... meh this one is better anyways :)

PS: Pay special attention to the last part of the song (say after 2 minutes)... that's the part that drives me crazy :P

EDIT: Cool! I managed to find the second video they have made for the same song. Simpler but also classier... enjoy!

CSS or Cansei de Ser Sexy

Another new discovery which I should have already known to be honest since they have been around for some time... Electroclash Brazilians from Sao Paulo with their name meaning "I am tired of being sexy" - - can't get any better than that!

They must be pretty cool to watch live judging from their stage outfits :P

Seriously though this album is sooo good, I have been listening to it non-stop!
"Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above" is probably the biggest hit of the album...

La Roux - Quicksand

And this is their second song... would make a killer Bond theme to be honest!
Album is coming out on June 29!
I also just found out that they were supporting Lilly Allen's UK tour of March 2009... OMG SUXXX!!!
But nonetheless, watch them out!

La Roux - In For The Kill

Yeap... I know... I have been away for far too long but I have decided that lately I have discovered too many new cool things to keep them to myself. And this is gonna be the blog's new purpose: sharing new cool stuff with anyone, whatever they may be!

Please don't expect any downloads as I don't have the time to do that anymore. My goal this time is to make new things known... after that it's up to you whether you will look them up or not :)

This one definitely deserves your attention though! It is playing all over London. Electro with a huge 80s vibe and a kick-ass hair due. Their first album is not out yet and I have only managed to listen to a couple of their songs but boy is this gonna be something to look out for!

Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl

Nope, I am not dead and neither is this blog! Alive and kicking here but coming back from my holidays, I had to adjust to reality... and that always takes some time!

Tune to keep you busy while I am putting some stuff together to upload as soon as possible... I have been listening to this song by Katy Perry all over London. Apparently she is not a lesbian... but after Samantha Fox, anything is possible :)

The Kooks - Do You Wanna

Is it just me or all new songs sound so summery?

Sonny J - Handsfree (If you hold my hand)

Smells like summer! So totally awesome!

Alphabeat - This Is Alphabeat

And finally, Alphabeat escape continental Europe! With the release of the UK version of their Danish album, Alphabeat are on everyone's lips! I watched them live last Thursday in London and I have to say I was just blown away! They are getting some major support from their label and even if you don't really know who they are, as a mate from work said, you can just tell they are sooo hot right now! Just to mention that their album is currently selling more than Madonna's album shows what I am talking about!
All of the tracks in the UK album have been remastered and they have also added some brand new songs! Just get this...

Tracks:
1. Fantastic 6
2. Fascination
3. 10000 Nights
4. Boyfriend
5. What Is Happening
6. Go Go
7. Touching Me Touching You
8. Rubber Boots
9. Public Image
10. Nothing But My Baby

The Ting Tings - Great DJ

New thingy... the Ting Tings are on everyone's bands to watch list for 2008. Their first single - Great DJ - seems to be playing all around London and this is definitely a band that deserves some serious attention. Although still a bit amateur-looking, they will get there slowly... they were signed by iColumbia afterall...

ps: Apologies for not posting anything for ages but let's just say I had other interests...
