Coming from Glasgow in Scotland, Texas is one of my all time favorite bands! Apart from their music (obviously), there are two things I like about them:
1- They took their name from the 1984 Wim Wenders movie Paris, Texas.
2- Sharleen Spiteri, the lead singer, has a Scottish accent that kicks ass!
This is their greatest hits album which reached #1 in the UK charts and became 6x platinum. But apart from this one, you should definitely listen to more of their music...

I think this song by Dead Or Alive is a really good follow-up to the previous post.
"...open up your loving arms, watch out here I cum!"

About three years ago this Puma ad hit the Internet. It created quite a lot of buzz since featuring a girl giving a blow job with cum dripping on her leg isn't exactly in accordance with Puma's brand image.
The official Puma response by Peter Kim, Puma's director of interactive marketing, was:
"It has been brought to our attention that several unauthorized, sexually suggestive advertisements portraying the PUMA brand have been released over the Internet. We are appalled that images like these would be created and distributed under the PUMA name. As a brand, we seek to take a unique perspective toward our advertising in an effort to challenge the boundaries of our industry; however we would never consider using these tactics. We are in the process of researching the circumstances and reserve any legal steps available."
Oh well, I guess Puma and cum don't go side by side...

This is a very good one!
One morning in the States, a band called The Cardigans woke up really early, earlier than usual. They had to go and do a boring radio show playing acoustic versions of their songs. This is that radio show and it's fucking amazing!
The interview the Cardigans did is also included along with:
And then you kissed me
Erase and rewind
You are the storm
For what it's worth
Communication
My favorite game

Just discovered that some of my RapidShare links don't work anymore. The reason was that someone (major loooser!) complained and those bitches at RapidShare deleted them.
No biggy... I am already uploading them again.

Help spread the buzz around their name... they are well worth it!
The songs available this time are:

This is the intro of Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence, in my opinion of the best anime movies ever made. The music is absolutely mind-blowing and in perfect accordance with the visuals used!
If you haven't already seen this movie, I strongly suggest you do!
The music is composed by Kenji Kawai.

Ok, I finally managed to find Dragonette EP which was released by Dragonette only as a promo prior to being signed to Mercury Records. Keep in mind that the songs that appear on the EP are early versions and the ones that have made the cut for the final album have been reworked since this release. This is really obvious when you listen to I Get Around. The song on YouTube sounds sooo much better! But still, this will have to do for now.
Track listing:
I Get Around
Magic Fantastic
Competition
Jesus Doesn't Love Me
Shock Box

New hot band on the blog!
Dragonette are a mainly Canadian electro-pop music band that have been generating interest by doing gigs in small venues in the UK and Canada. They were named the #1 pop act to look out for in 2007 by the popular music blog Popjustice.
They are currently in London (yeah!!!) recording their debut album Galore, which is due to be released on 16/07/2007. They are also the opening act for the Sugababes 2007 tour (ok, this I didn't want to know...)
Visit their website to find out more...

This is, I think, their only video so far...
ps: bebe, you will fucking love this one... it is almost orgasmic!

This is the debut album of Morcheeba. Stylistically, the album is by far the band's most trip hop oriented release, consisting of languid, looping grooves, using mostly Rhodes piano, electric guitar and scratching. From the next album Big Calm onwards, the band moved away from trip hop towards a more pop-orientated sound.

So sit back... and enjoy the downloading.

This is the latest album from The Kaiser Chiefs, released in 2007.
This is one of my favorite bands, not only because I love their music but also because they come from the city where I studied and had a hell of a time as a student.
This is for everyone that shared their time with me in... Leeds.

And the winner is... Anastasia!
Congratulations Anastasia! You will be enjoying an one month premium RapidShare.com account, the details of which have already been sent to your email address.
I would also like to thank everyone that sent an email and took part in the competition!
The song we were after was Santa Esmeralda - Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, a very different cover of the classic song by The Animals.
For those that didn't win, don't worry...
There will be many more competitions in the near future.

As promised, here are some photos from The Soho Dolls gig that I went to last Friday here in London.
Many thanks to bebe and her precious big baby for helping me with these!
Needless to say, the band was simply amazing! Even though they played only for 30 minutes, they managed to get everyone going. Especially Maya was breathtaking! That girl has definitely got some attitude...
We also managed to have a chat with them as we were invited to join them for drinks after the show at this pub called The Purple Turtle. Maya told us that their album will be coming out this June and that they are very excited about it. Also, they already have one of their songs available as a free download on their website which of course I urge you to visit ASAP.

Time for a classic!
I am sure most of you have already seen this video of Prodigy but I just had to post it. It was banned from MTV when it was released due to explicit violence and nudity.
I personally consider this to be probably one the best music videos in history.
A must see... please wait until the end of the clip... that is where the good stuff is!

Time for a Soho Dolls update.
Next Friday I am going to one of their gigs here in London, so I will get to see them live for the first time.
I am really curious to see how good they are on stage and maybe get them to say a few things to put on the blog.
So far their best line as far as I can remember is: "Oh, and we are straight; at least I think we are..."
In the meantime, here is the video of Stripper.
Please watch it until the end or at least fast-forward it to the end when Maya, the lead singer, takes off her top and reveals her breasts with a black tape wrapped around them (this is sort of their trademark).

Ok, I am pretty sure you know who Goldfrapp is which basically saves me any introduction.
This is the audio rip of one of their gigs at Brighton.
Very good sound quality and all of their hits plus thousands? (don't think so...) of people screaming in the background.
Enjoy :)
