Brilliant artwork from .tsouk! This is (almost) the cover of the first album of Belgium-based Greek artist Panos Gourgιώtis! It just hit stores today so I would like to wish Panos ALL THE BEST!!!

Now a little bit on the artwork itself. Based on a photography technique developed by .tsouk this was so smart for the Greek music market that it couldn't literally understand it!

Notice the mix of Greek and English on the actual title of the album? Well, Lyra (the music label), decided that they didn't like it and instructed .tsouk to change it to all Greek...

Now to me, this has three possible explanations:

a) Lyra Sales & Marketing people can't read English.

b) Lyra Sales & Marketing people think the Greek public can't read English.

c) Lyra Sales & Marketing people don't even dare to do something which is remotely original and unusual since this is just not the way things are being done in the Greek music market.

I think I am gonna go with all of the above! The cover rocks anyways (even in its Greek format) and the upcoming video will rock too (I know... I was on set)!

No wonder though talented people are leaving Greece faster than you can say Mississippi! No wonder every single day, I ask myself why the fuck I came back to Athens? Greece was always so good only for the summer...

It's been a while since I saw a movie that actually made me wish I could see "thonk" noises every time I hit my head on a post! Or even better see little hearts or heart-shaped light bulbs everytime I kissed a girl!

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World does exactly that and more! Based on the graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O'Malley, this movie is by far the most original and cool thing I have seen in a long time! I won't spoil it for you guys by saying anything more since this is one movie you should so definitely check out!

What's more, the music in the movie is just awesome! The clip below is Black Sheep written by Metric but performed for the movie by Brie Larson! Watch it, love it and get a glimpse of why this movie will make you wish your world was full of thonk, crash, pow and K.O.

WoW! Aren't they back with a BANG!?

Currently featuring at number 2 of the UK chart, taken from their yet unpublished second album (it's coming out on Sunday 20 April) and already featuring in a TV ad for Mazda, this song is literally everywhere in London at the mo!

Very very different from their indie first album but hey this is a financial crisis so I guess we all have to make sacrifices :P

The video is quite weird and clearly styled after Grace Jones! It is also one of (at least) two videos the band has made for the same song. Unfortunately, I can't seem to be able to link the other one as You Tube says that it's not available in my country... meh this one is better anyways :)

PS: Pay special attention to the last part of the song (say after 2 minutes)... that's the part that drives me crazy :P

Another new discovery which I should have already known to be honest since they have been around for some time... Electroclash Brazilians from Sao Paulo with their name meaning "I am tired of being sexy" - - can't get any better than that!

They must be pretty cool to watch live judging from their stage outfits :P

And finally, Alphabeat escape continental Europe! With the release of the UK version of their Danish album, Alphabeat are on everyone's lips! I watched them live last Thursday in London and I have to say I was just blown away! They are getting some major support from their label and even if you don't really know who they are, as a mate from work said, you can just tell they are sooo hot right now! Just to mention that their album is currently selling more than Madonna's album shows what I am talking about!

Finally, a new band I like! And it's all thanks to my friend .tsouk who just came back from Japan and was carrying this little gem hidden in his hard drive. Capsule (カプセル) are a Shibuya-kei group, consisting of vocalist Toshiko Koshijima and producer Yasutaka Nakata. Most of the songs in the album are in English with some in Japanese. Also, have a look at their latest music video of Right And Right Again which of course is included in the debut album. Maya, once again looks fUcKtAsTiC, although she is actually pretty tiny. Amazing ad by Cadbury. There is virtually no association between the product and the advertising message (apart from the purple wall in the background). The purpose here is to create a sheer feeling of joy, to simply make you smile exactly as you smile when you indulge into the sweet taste of chocolate (at least this is what the creative agency, that came up with this ad, claims). Of course, it doesn't hurt Cadbury if you go out and buy the chocolate as well... Experiential and positive association branding at its best!

So Britney - the bItCh apparently - is back and everyone has been talking about her recent performance at the 2007 VMAs. All I have to say is that the new song is really catchy and I believe it is going to be all over clubs the next few months. As far as her performance goes, she was definitely on to sth and yes she is trashing her image but isn't that the way to go? Will you ever again think of Britney as a virgin teen, "I will show you my pussy but you can't touch" pop queen? Mission accomplished!

They are getting sooo much better! This was the third time I saw the Dragonette live and I must say they totally deserve everyone's attention! Relaxed and full of energy, they managed to almost make me faint. I was so close I could just hug Tina. I had a chat with her after the gig and she told me that they currently live in London, that her best friend in Canada is Greek or Canadian-Greek (dunno...) and that they will play again live in London before the end of August.

Those Sounds from beloved Sweden are quickly becoming my favorite band at the mo... I think I even like them more than the Dragonettes!!! (OMG, can't believe I even said that...)
Btw, all you true believers out there, stay tuned because on Wednesday I am going with G. to see the Dragonettes live for the second time. Hopefully, I will come back with some goodies...

I am sure most of you will have heard this song already... But this is such an amazing mix of it that I believe you should still give it a go. So dodgy, posh and sexy...

The video is a live performance of the song by Goldfrapp during Glastonbury 2004. Now, there are a couple of things I want you to pay attention to. Alison, as well as the two dancers around her, are wearing horse tails and imitate the movements of horses.

I remember her once saying that she got the idea of this theme while being in a sex shop and wondering how it would be to wear a strap-on the other way around... Also, this is way before Madonna used that horse concept in her last world tour... jealous?
